NDCOP Industries Private Limited & Others v. State of Punjab & Others

The petitioners, including NDCOP Industries Private Limited, approached the Punjab & Haryana High Court seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the State GST authorities to release the goods in compliance with orders passed by the Deputy Commissioner, State Tax (Appeals), Patiala.

The First Appellate Authority had, through orders dated 04.04.2025 and 18.07.2025, directed release of the detained goods, namely copper scrap, which according to the petitioners was being transported from Delhi to Jammu and was not intended for consumption within the State of Punjab.
